- (Gay & Lesbian Mormons) Affirmation Phone: 323-255-7251 |
Affirmation
is a fellowship of gays, lesbians, bisexuals, their family and friends
who share the common bond of the Mormon experience.
Its purpose is to provide a supportive environment for relieving the needless fear, guilt, self-oppression and isolation that LDS gays and lesbians can experience in an era where willful ignorance about human sexuality is too often a reality. We believe that a same-gender orientation and same-gender relationships can be consistent with and supported by the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We affirm that we are children of Heavenly Parents who love us the way they created us and will judge us, as they do all, based on what we make of our lives here and how we have treated our sisters and brothers. |

Lutherans
Concerned:
We help people reconcile their spirituality and sexuality in an uplifting way. We also seek to lead the church by example. We cannot wait for everyone in the church to understand how acute the need is. We are called to minister to people now. Even as we continue to nurture worshipping communities that proclaim the Gospel while affirming sexual diversity, we are called to do more. Our vision is to take the lead in creating new ministries for those the institutional church is ignoring. Through our understanding of the Gospel, we believe that reaching out first and helping others helps each of us grow in our faith and understanding of God's grace. |

Evangelical Anglican Church in America The Evangelical Anglican Church in America 2401 Artesia Boulevard, Ste. 106-213 Redondo Beach CA 90278 E-mail the
Office of the Presiding Bishop: |
The
Evangelical Anglican Church in America (or, EACA)
is a newly-emerging denomination of the Anglican Catholic tradition
within the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. True to this
tradition, the validity of its orders have been faithfully preserved
through the unbroken chain of historically attested apostolic
succession, for the sake of the rightful preaching of the Word and
celebration of the sacraments - the basis of our life together as a
Church.
One essential difference between the EACA and other independent Old Catholic, Orthodox and Anglican bodies is found in its emphatic and emphatically public commitment to inclusivity. This commitment provides a means by which and an ecclesial body in which sincere gay men, lesbians and bisexual persons, amongst others historically excluded, may answer Christ's call to the Church either as lay faithful or within the ministerial priesthood, in adherence to Christ's intention that his Church make its foundation upon the twin principles of mutuality and inclusivity. |

| Town Square - Gay Christians | The Townsquare - Gay Christians chat room was my first introduction to decent chat on AOL. I happened upon it by hunting through the hundreds of other rooms that were there at the time. I was very glad I found it. I've met a lot of good people there. It's changed my life forever. |
| Life - Gay Christians | The Life - Gay Christians room is also a good room to go to. It's not created nearly as often as the Town Square version, but usually tends to be a room that shares deeper thoughts. |
| Town Square - Rainbow Lambs | Town
Square - Rainbow Lambs was created as a retreat from the other
two rooms.
When things start becoming bad in the other two, often you'll find people here seeking a respite from the repetitive "oxymoron" or "Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve!" teachings. |
| Life - GayLesBiTransJews | Life - GayLesBiTransJews is a very nice room that isn't often there, but like the rooms above, it is worth creating it on your own. |
| Community Conference - Gay Christian Chat | The
Community Conference room is located in the OnQ area of
AOL and is used for conferences on various topics.
On Thursday nights 8 to 10 P.M. EST, there is a nice hosted chat for gay Christians. The OnQ area is geared toward the GLBT community, and this particular chat is almost always very friendly and is not controversial in nature. |
| Undernet Version: #gaychristians | #gaychristians
& #gaychristian
These two chats are located on the Internet and the Undernet. I haven't had much experience with IRC, but the chats have always been calm when I was there and quite a few friendly people visit. |
